AlignCam processes photos on your iPhone. All photo features are free and do not require an account or subscription. The home screen may show a banner advertisement when advertising is enabled. This policy explains local photo processing and the advertising service separately.
AlignCam is a general-audience app, not a service designed specifically for children. This policy covers date/comment and advertising features when available in your installed version. Earlier versions, including TestFlight build 5, do not display advertisements. Advertising remains disabled until the updated release is ready.
When you choose a reference image, Apple’s system photo picker gives AlignCam access only to the image you selected. AlignCam downsamples that image on the device to display the alignment overlay.
When you enter the camera flow, AlignCam uses the camera to show a live preview and capture the photo you request. The camera feed is processed locally and is not uploaded.
When you tap Use Photo, AlignCam requests Photos add-only access and saves the approved capture to your Photos library. AlignCam does not request broad permission to browse your library.
You may include the capture date and an optional comment in a footer beneath the photo. Captioned photos are exported as JPEG with a photo long edge of up to 3000 pixels; uncaptioned photos retain the original capture. The visible caption is also included in the saved file's caption metadata. Anyone you share that photo with can see the date and comment.
AlignCam does not upload your selected reference, camera feed, captured image, date text or comments. They are not sent to Google or other advertisers. There is no photo-processing server, user account, app-managed photo database or separate analytics service. The include-date preference is stored locally; comments are not stored separately from photos you approve for saving.
When enabled, the home-screen banner uses Google AdMob and Google's User Messaging Platform for consent. They may process IP address (including approximate location), device identifiers, advertising and interaction data, and crash/performance diagnostics for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. AlignCam requests non-personalized ads and disables Google's publisher first-party ID. This does not mean the advertising service collects no data. We do not request an Apple App Tracking Transparency permission prompt in the current design.
Where required, the consent service presents your choices before advertisements are requested, including a way to decline consent. When required by that service, Ad privacy choices on Home lets you review your consent and applicable opt-out choices. Taking and saving photos remain available when consent is declined, the device is offline or an advertisement cannot load. There are no advertisements on the camera or capture-review screens.
